Winter Rains In SF Bay Area...storm 'totals'

It was worth waiting for...the storm coming down from the Gulf of Alaska finally reached the South Bay Area in the late evening on Sunday night...high winds and heavy rains buffeted the area...with gigantic waves crashing into the coastline...NWS had warned of coastal high waves of up to 30-50 feet along the Northern and Central California coastline...NWS wasn't 'fooling around' with this 'tweet'...more storms are expected by this weekend, as a few perturbations move into the Pacific NorthWest for the time being...light rain in Bay Area Thursday night into Friday.


The Bay Area was drenched in the downpour and here are a few 24-hour rainfall totals from 4 a.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Hayward .41 inches      Concord .76 inches

Oakland .73 inches        San Francisco .74   

Santa Rosa 1.03 inches         Napa .58 

Mt. Tamalpais 1.54 inches      Venada 4 inches

  San Jose .88 inches             Mt. Umunhum 2.01

 Half Moon Bay .52 inches   Ben Lomond Mountain 2.72
