Hey Poc good to see you on here. Looks like the family is moving in nicely here. And yes looks like a pattern changer to me.

Topic would be back to a wet pattern on dates in title.  I like the current heat but it's come with the unfortunate high dew points.

Not sure it will an atmospheric river. But a large rain storm would be welcome after the heat is over.  I saw some organics pointing to another hot spell in week 3-4 of august which would be after these dates

Without you I'd be at the mercy of the weather channel :), though seriously you, Poc, and a lot of others are invaluable sources of information and learning experiences for so many people myself included.

O boy who are these random people showing up here

we need the blue ridge bouncer on the door.  Secret password for entry into this section of the board is "snobal knows all". Pass it along

The water table is so high here that for the first time in 10 years hydro static pressure put 2 inches of water in our basement. No more please..........:classic_dry:

What about Henry Marqusity and his maps?

So great to the see the new forum up and running - I love the crisp, clean layout - its similar to the old forum with just enough of a refresh. Great job by Planetmaster and all involved.

Oh hey guys/gals figured I would add it in here so I could get my name again. Ill probably be a lurker for a little but lets see what happens get ready for some more storm action today looking  like maybe tomorrow too depends on location of front probably. Might have some better widespread action tomorrow and temps should be around the same if not a little lower so things should pop early.

Should we include Saturday and Sunday in this or should we have another thread for that?

I say we try to keep it going. Heck, only some of Thurs- Friday looks rain free out of the next 7 days.

I hope this pattern breaks on some certain days coming up. Have a ball game to go to on Tuesday night in Reading. Also Sunday the 19th is race day up at Pocono.

I will shift dates to include sat and Sunday

i am curious to see if the 14-15 has a bigger storm that the ear and bsr are picking up on

the 0z euro has that stubborn Atlantic HP in position as an ULL swoops in creating an atmospheric river just like we've seen for the last two wet periods

ecmwf_z500_mslp_eus_7.png

The east Asia rule has both a storm hitting Japan around the 8th and it just happens to be a recurving typhoon

So we would expect the juiciest days to come around the 14-15th per ofm. That's a formidable storm recurving off Japan which may crack the whip in the atmosphere and cause a larger mid level trough to shape out.  It also has bering sea backup on the 14th which depicts a large ULL on the east coast.  There really is no question on precip rather I'm curious if we trend to a sizeable lp Towards the latter of this period

Well, shoot.  Am planning to help a friend rebuilt his front porch in NW NJ this weekend.  Guess we might be doing some work on the interior instead...
