The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Westchester County in southeastern New York...
  Rockland County in southeastern New York...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 412 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located near Pomona, or 7 miles northwest of Haverstraw, moving
  east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

At 431 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Haverstraw, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Peekskill, Stony Point, West Haverstraw, Croton-on-Hudson, Mount Ivy,
Thiells and Buchanan.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect

Yep - almost caught me unawares, until I peeped SPC yesterday afternoon. Decided to alert the "masses" via my Fb page

Based off the lightning maps, the cell is taking a jog to the south. Looks like it might be a direct hit now.

Motion definitely changed to the southeast for that cell. Bracing for impact. Moved vehicles. Tornado Watch is out.

Supercells usually turn right so what was probably at one point an east motion with flow will probably turn SE in time just keep an eye out if you get in the inflow notch be prepared.

Bright flash and loud clap at 5:18 likely cloud to ground, rain increasing significantly. Thunderclap count around 160.

Another loud burst 5:19, rain is now increasingly significantly.

Safe wishes to all. One good thing about the PA storms is that most of them are not too close to large population. I know that's little to no consolation to those "fewer" that live in or near affected regions, and for them I send only the best well wishes.

Nor and Solstice have Tornado warning up.  Not sure who else is in southern Fairfield County.  Also Severe Thunderstorm warning including ping pong ball hail and 60mph winds.

Looks like a dodged bullet here. Moved even further south so just got a bunch of heavy rain. Peak rate probably 3" an hour? Over 200 thunderclaps and power has flickered about 9 times. Just south might get slammed. Technically not in the tornado warning.
