January 7-10, 2019 | Winter Storm

Staff Recommended Posts

0z FV3 gave you guys some love. Subtract about 10-12" in the green/blue areas and that's the approximate snowfall for this storm.

All in all, an interesting adjustment. Typical GFS meandering perhaps?

Regardless, would put most of NYS into NE "in play" for winter.

More adjustment to come? FV-XXX, to me, has been hinting at a colder outcome (than the past two days runs)

It’s so incredibly difficult to get cold and storms to link up at the more southern latitude locations this winter season.   I like seeing the storm maintain its presence on the models, but definitely need a south shift.  Glorious banana 🍌 high ?  Where you go....come back

Hmm I can’t decipher exactly what that means since there are so many lows on it.  Are you able to post the surface one as well and send me the link.  I’d like to add that to my bookmarks

not surprising given the OFM signal and the "trend" I've identified on the NCEP products also coming in colder.

My season ski pass is still sitting at guest services waiting for me to pick it up, its 5 min from my house yet I don't have the mental energy to pick it up and acknowledge winter.

To no surprise the 18z gfs is a 45th parallel storm in the northeast.   GLC cutter that redevelops way north.  The northern stream strikes again. The gift that keeps on giving.

I heard they’re on strike against winter until a snowstorm hits.
