This is unfortunately continuing to look like another rainmaker for most areas.. BUT.. the elusive pattern change does appear to be popping up consistently just after this time period.

CPC days 3-7 looks terrible. Probably the least cluttered I have seen it in a while. Pretty sad seeing nothing but flood areas east of the west coast

Will see if that window from 3rd week of January to the middle of February materializes.

This thing is being advertised as a nice NE storm.

Looks like it could be a good hit for NE, but man, that torch is blowing strong all the way up to Toledo and Cleveland.  Turning into a possible nightmare winter.

It could easily turn into a lakes/upper OHV event if there was some negative NE heights which we've seen earlier this winter. This is one setup you want to rule for a suppression.  It would take a whole lot of suppression for anyone south of I-70 though :classic_laugh:.

Need a pattern shift fast for any of us to have a prayer.  Jan 17th tends to be our midway point of winter.  Got about an inch or so back in November here.  Thought it was going to be a big winter.  To see storms barreling that far north in January is deflating.

Our snows in the OHV seem to happen later and later so I'm not even concerned.

I do admire your optimism, but when I see that torch raging over Toledo and Cleveland in January, I see winter slipping away.  Need a pattern change quick.

This is just the saddest winter so far.

Haven't even had a close call yet.  The only school closings we've had around here were in early November, lol.

I've certainly have seen worse winters.  Of course, I am old now :)  I have at least had 2.5 inches of snowfall and an ice storm in my back yard, so it hasn't been free of wintry goodness.

Curious Rob - did you ever  have a winter with zero measurable snow?
