It's shocking because it's not true. I saw that report, too. Somebody effed up, believe me, nowhere near 6.4" here.

I took a look at the hourly observations for Midway and the amount of accumulated precip doesn't look anywhere near high enough for 6.4 inches of snow to have fallen

Despite losing some small amount of time with ZR and Sleet. I am up to 4.25 inches of snow.  30.2 degrees and light to moderate snow falling

When I was a kid, that water tower said Florence Mall on it. Then they decided you couldn't have a public structure with an advertisement on it, and they changed it to say Y'ALL!

Transfer still has not begun & moisture feed still strong...that looks good for Ohio.

Last image notice the strong frontogenesis at 850mb close to Ky/Ohio line right where these bands keep forming & moving north.

Minus anything that falls from now ubtil midnight looks like it will go down officially as 8.1" thus far. I know the snow was deeper than that both from shoveling and clearing the truck.

Ah well, still the biggest snow in quite a while.

Is it just me or is that radar from the SW really going to outperform expectations

It looks like it will outperform. NKY friends say each one of those heavier bands are intense.

Yeah, I'm nervously checking the radar every two minutes to make sure it's progressing northward and maintaining its strength, LOL

I haven’t measured officially but there was about 2.5 before I left. So I’d say maybe around 3 inches now. Had some rain for a bit so might have compacted the snow some

Look at the Louisville Radar, and you can see what still has to move up the river valley.
