Looking forward to 60 on Friday, the cold is useless other than killing our heating bills if it isn't going to snow. I'll take the warmth the rest of February as dictated by this pattern that we will not get out of till mid March at the earliest if ever.

12z NAM looking like it's coming in warmer for my valley, keeping it all liquid. As always...don't mind that. Also an always...mountain towns to my east don't fair as well.

May as well move into OBS mode as precip has entered western parts of the region.

Currently 26F, DP at 19F with brilliant sunshine out there...pretty glorious start to the day actually...heard cardinals & bluebirds singing out there. Won't be too long before the grackles & red-wings start showing up...

I'm currently 0.38" into what looks to be at least 1.5" of rainfall when it's all over. At least it's not cold rain, current Ta/Td is 56/54 ...

Warm air ramming on the west side of the Apps is a dream killer in marginal situations, but cold air damming during rain events is similar to a nightmare. I should be closing in on 70F on the west side tomorrow afternoon compared to gross weather on the east side:

Off topic but OUCH!!! :classic_ohmy: Is that a monthly bill or a bill for 2 months. I have all electric also. After the winters of 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 with a long PV visit both winters I cried uncle after getting and a $880.00 bill in February of 2015. I had pellet stove installed in May of 2015. What a nice money saver.

That is for 1 month!! The budget plan estimates your electric usage throughout the year, then charges an "average" per month, thus avoiding a huge bill during winter. That is the train of thought. We are totally electric here, but still..it seems high.

My house is electric heat...have only turned it on once during an especially cold stretch when we had house guests...got the electric bill :very-shocked-smiley-emoticon:and have never used since. Woodstove and pellet stove all the way, pay about $1,000 per winter for everything but stacking.

Anyway, rain has kicked off here...temp at 38F, DP at 29F.

I have oil heat and still burn wood and pellets... electric heat in the northeast....:hmm:.. that is a tough one.

Anyway.... 32.7.. falling and precipitation about to start.  DP is 27.3 ... so I imagine it will be frozen pretty much from the get go.

All rain here at my locale, The wintry stuff is way north and east of me. The wintry stuff to my west is forecast to stay there. Since it is ZR, please stay there, I really hate it.

 Temp is 37.

Really bad freezing rain up here. Roads are nearly impossible to drive on. My good friend said the majority of the highway is cars parked on the side of the road. I really, really, really, hope this turns to plain rain soon.

Some green starting to show up on the Burlington radar. Hoping some relief is on the way.

Seems like the freezing rain is starting to mix with plain rain. Phew. I went though the ice storm of 98' and since then any ice gives me an anxiety attack. Lol

I know the feeling, I get the shakes if I know I have to drive in it. A couple of bad experiences stay etched in my mind.

About an 80/20 mix of ZR/IP

NAM says we change over to snow in 2-3 hours, anything is better than freezing rain.
