Hiramite 496 Posted February 11 CLE forecast area goes under a Flood Watch for 1 - 1.5” of rain. Quote * From midnight EST tonight through late Tuesday night * Widespread rain will bring one to one and a half inches of rainfall to the region. Frozen grounds and elevated rivers and streams with a light snowpack will elevate the flood risk.
Snow_____ 177 Posted February 12 (edited) This is video of the mill creek by my house as I pass over it. Normally it’s not half this high and this is the highest I’ve seen it in quite some time. I don’t know it’s flood patterns or how long it’s been since it’s gotten out of its banks or what it affects if it does but it’s plenty high. 5A22A214-6251-46CB-9A08-3875FE7BE4B4.MOV Edited February 12 by Snow_____
ClicheVortex2014 397 Posted February 13 Had a decent squall yesterday. There was certainly some weak rotation aloft... especially when it was to my southwest.... but no damaging wind or tornado reports came of it. Just some gusty wind and very heavy rain. cincyohwxguy 18 Posted February 16 The rainfall being put out by some of the models (especially the EURO) for the next 10-14 days across the Ohio River watershed is insanely high. Would imagine this would cause widespread and major flooding issues.

cincyohwxguy 18 Posted Sunday at 09:21 PM (edited) 12Z Euro QPF over the next ten days (with almost all falling by next weekend). Heavier rains have shifted north some. Continued major flooding threat for many areas if this pans out. Edited Sunday at 09:22 PM by cincyohwxguy
ClicheVortex2014 397 Posted Sunday at 11:18 PM Thankfully the Hocking has gone down to near-normal levels after lingering in the teens for a bit longer than usual. But if this continues to trend more north so that we get the heavy training rain, that'll make things interesting for the 3rd time this month.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a * Flood Watch for portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West Virginia, including the following areas, in northeast Kentucky, Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence KY. In southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington. In southwest Virginia, Buchanan and Dickenson. In West Virginia, Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Jackson WV, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mingo, Pleasants, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane, Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Wirt, and Wood. * From Tuesday evening through Thursday morning * Heavy rain will overspread the area starting late Tuesday night and lasting through early Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts as high as 2 to 3 inches will be possible. The rain combined with a saturated ground will likely lead to flooding of creeks, streams and rivers which are already running high. * Flooded roads along streams, creeks and rivers are possible. Especially, low lying and poor drainage areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. RLX Quote Have also issued a flood watch for much of the region and that may need to be extended at a later time as well. But significant rainfall over already saturated soils means that flooding is likely going to occur somewhere. && .LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/... As of 310 PM Monday... After brief high pressure builds in on Thursday, another strong system pushes in this weekend. At least this system will be all rain, however, anymore rain is going to cause flooding issues. Will have to keep an eye on this and see how the pattern unfolds the next few days, as streams and rivers will be running very high after this mid-week storm and anything additional could make matters worse. ohiobuckeye45 823 Posted Tuesday at 02:05 PM (edited) this kills me, not only does the OV get the winter shaft, we get on going flooding....not spilling in to multiyear. I am absolutely dreading spring now...won't be able to step foot outside the new house and enjoy the property for the first time without getting obliterated by mosquitos Edited Tuesday at 02:06 PM by ohiobuckeye45

If it does, then we'd be shaping up for an epic tornado season like 2008 or 2011.
