February 10-11, 2019 | Winter Storm

Staff Recommended Posts

Although many might think that this Winter is over I am liking this period, the cold boundary is forecasted to be placed lower than previous storms this winter and some models are showing a clipper system redeveloping into a coastal low. Here are some of the models.

I do hope folks get there snow. It´s a matter of salvaging the winter. But for that, something will need to destroy that SE Atlantic ridge.

The recent threads opened have all been plagued by the curse of the SE ridge.

It keeps the storms inland aside from pumping warmer air over the easternmost areas of the eastern seaboard.

GFS keeps the storm further south, but lacking in moisture.

Cranky has a great write up about this “potential” system.  i suggest you all take a moment and read.   He tends to favor the heavy slider idea as being shown by the fv3

The 12Z FV3-GFS really blows this up once it's in the Atlantic. Over a week out but something to track for sure.

People from the mason Dixon line up thru and into Boston really need this one.  This has been a dismal type winter for most in that area.   Hoping this can turn into something decent

We need a true miller A storm. I am so sick of seeing these secondary transfer storms that shaft my area, especially during this winter.

Nothing can salvage this winter now any snow now is a Nuisance storm just let the warm weather move in shorts and tank tops and golf

Lol I agree.  It would help ease the pain just a little bit.  That or give Al Gore a call and see if he can somehow get some strong -NAO blocking to appear up over greenland.

Always thought we needed to separate Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, but I stopped arguing that years ago :classic_biggrin:

While I much prefer the discussion and detail here, I do like that American breaks NE from mid-Atlantic. Us NNE folks are far out numbered by the mid-Atlantic crew though

Please provide proof to back up your statement. Prove to the posters and readers that for a fact until the end of winter all snow will be a nuisance storm and that winter cannot be salvaged.

Failure to do so may put you in the icebox for a while.

Bittercasting is not well seen in here.
