February 11-13th Winter Storm OBS

Staff Recommended Posts

.62" of ice would be crippling. Depending on how quickly it gets above freezing however.

Yea and accretion rate will depend on alot of factors... what shows as 0.62" actually accumulates as 0.30" etc.

Yeah still advancing that warm nose up further than RAP, HRRR.Still  an ice storm for most of LOT according to NAM. A nowcast event. Certainly wouldn't discount WAA from spoiling the day

this is some of the more widespread icing I've seen in a while...not isolated splotchy maps  like you usually see

That would be a gigantic mess for BG and Toledo if that transpired....

the short range models have backed off completely on the colder temps aloft and MDW is down to an inch of snow after a high of 4.8" at 18z (hrrr).

they do this every time, when will i learn?

It's not that WAA was going to win or lose, I expected nothing snow-wise. The models trended colder this afternoon so I thought maybe it was a thing. It wasn't. It's whatever. I can't change it.

If you had a single flake of snow you did better than me! lol

I'm in a foul mood. Next pattern will be snowstorms across the south and then we'll segue to spring with a couple sloppy seconds here and there for us. I hate spring and summer, but I'm over this crap.

With the crap we keep seeing, I’m ready for spring and gardening season!
