GFS is still flat as a pancake which leads to a pretty small impact for wave 1, hopefully we can get a little "less flat" as we move forward

This might be interesting. I’m keeping an eye on it

I'm already seeing my chances vanish over the next 8 days with these north jogs. I'm so over this winter. I'd like to see TN Valley & lower OV folks be on the good side for once.

Oh well!

FWIW the CMC still has the second wave too, just weaker than first.

Also, I can tell im the only other one who has gotten myself in too deep already in to this potential lol. I know its a little early, but not really. 84 hours or so out from wave 1

A southern system will affect primarily Kentucky and south central Ohio with a chance of snow Friday night into early Saturday. The northern edge of this remains in high question, as to whether it may go further north into the Ohio Valley or be further south and remain in central KY.

Looks like it slides mostly north of me but definite step in the right direction.

Well, it certainly would affect me with some snow, which has been in short supply in my neighborhood this season!

the NAM early stages seem to indicate a GFS like storm, MO/OH River valley storm weakening as it heads east. Very flat, decent hit for MO early on

What causes storms like that to lose so much strength? My casual knowledge drops off around here. I’m guessing something to do with northern/southern stream energy not lining up or not tapping into Gulf moisture or something?
