Had some nasty hail.  Don't think the video does justice to pounding on the windows and roof.

Nice one there!

Looks like the penny size hail informed in the warning for SE NY,

Cell I3 continues to be nasty. Tracking right towards Yonkers, NY just to the north of NYC metro.

Cell N3 moving right over White Plains.

And now flooding warning it seems for the extreme SE NY area.

Alright.

What a strong cold air mass clashing with a warm air mass can do even without much CAPE energy available.

First blast of rain passed. Parents thought it had turned out a dud. Incorrect. Look at storm cell motion, directly NE so that big red blob is bearing down.

As I type, the biggest lightning blast came down. Looked like cloud-to-ground based off lightning. And now the rain is picking up. The blob is here. Happening so fast...

Sometimes the videos don't work.  Here's a gif.  The hail started off bigger though.

Folks in the area just to the immediate north of NYC probably the Bronx or nearby, watch out for cell O5.

Dangerous one there.

Some self-praise here: gonna pick up some major street weather-cred at my school, I said thunderstorms would happen.

Though whether that excuses my failures on winter storms though :classic_laugh:!

On this day going forward, your classmates will give you respect when it comes to weather.

Watching from the North Shore of LI (Huntington) there is a hell of a lightning show going on north of us over the LI Sound and Southern Ct!

So this happened. Neighbor’s fence (and branches) met our car. Bit of suck.

Judging by the sudden onset of heavy rain, I’d say the storm just hit the north shore of LI.

That last report of TSTM WND DMG was near me.  This was the strongest T'storm to hit us in well over a year.  The wind was absolutely roaring outside.

Edit: While work was close to Wind DMG I just noticed ridgewood had .75in hail and I live 1 town away.

What a difference a day makes:  31F currently with snow showers on and off since this morning.  The melting has ceased and now the standing water will start to freeze and cause some issues.

I3 gave me some hail in Little Ferry,NJ.

The lightning show was incredible for 40 minutes to my west long before it hit me. I wish i had lived in a high rise to watch it.
