  1. What is going on with the lower level circulation? Yesterday, it looked like it was a few hours from land fall, and then, the last frames of the visable sattelite looks like it was headed due south right under the convention? Are hurricanes “centered” at there upper level circulation or the surface low?

  3. Looks like the lower level circulation is going to move over land pretty quickly based on the satellite?
  4. Wonder what they are waiting for on tropical depression characteristics. Certainly looks like it has a closed rotation and there’s got to be sustained winds of 35mph under some of those faster moving clouds...
  5. I think that the Warmer temps might allow strong hurricanes to get stronger, but if the warming changes weather patterns to cause lower instability in the Atlantic basin and more Saharan Dust coming off of Africa hurricanes might be less likely to form....

  7. Well, we over performed in the rain department, i think most of the rain has stopped at the gauge reads 2.74”... And 2 of my 5 snow flakes total that i had as christmas decorations blew apart and broke in the storm... now i’m down to three out of five snowflakes. >_> Also, did you see the latest GFS? Hour 384 shows a white christmas imby!!?? ;)
  8. Thanks to everyone for putting as much effort into tracking and explaining a storm that was modeled to miss ne for quite some time. 1.69” of rain so far, had a few gusts over 40
  9. Was thinking about driving from Virginia Beach to South Carolina via i95 tomorrow but looked like nc is going to get too much ice/snow over a largish area... I thought a couple days ago once I got out of emporia I’d be good but it’s not really looking that way now. 2” is rain and 40mph gusts in vb tomorrow :D.
