One good facet of this is that it will feel mild--we haven't seen 50 in December since 12/27/15, so it wouldn't take much to get our mildest December day in three years. I was hoping that Dec. 2 would be mild because it is the b-day of a waitress I like.

Going to be a long transient winter, cold and dry, GLC with warm up then cold and dry. Seems I read this book before.

Is it just me, or does anyone else roll their eyes with these comments. Man....winter hasn't even begun. What's with some of you Debbie downers? Lol. I can't wait until we have the " Big One " . there won't be one mention of this then. 😜😜😜

He is not necessarily wrong with regards to the set up currently showing itself for this winter. While I do not necessarily agree with his sentiment yet, With the ENSO set up this year, I would not be surprised at storms which cut and/or favor the interior for this year. That being said, let us see what happens.

Just trying to look at this with the glass half full, not Rose colored glasses. I'm sure you mean well. Maybe you're right man. But, I still have faith

To offset the cold shoulder you have been getting from her?

How does a warm day play into your plans with her?  Curious.

Honestly, depends on who says it.  LUCC does not cry the blues so I give it some credence.  Others, I may agree with you.

This is the first "true" GLC in a while where a SLP cuts up through IL-MI area and head into Canada without any redevelopment further east. The crysophere in NA has been solid and growing steadily and in these parts, we're at record snowpack for this time of year. These factors don't always play through down to the coast (see winter of '07-'08 as an example), but thinking things will change for the better (for winter fans) down towards the coast come later December (after what looks to be a decent mid-month warmup).

Back to this storm...NAM really starting to pick up on the CAD in it's 12z run. Could get ugly for a while for areas that are just recovering from the storm earlier this week. VT still has about 8000 without power.

NWS keeps ticking high temps down for Sunday and increasing the frozen precip aspect. For mby...they just introduced snow for the first time for early part of Saturday night before changing to sleet/fzr then rain in the morning with 1-2" accumulations. High temp now only suppose to be low 40s (42°) as opposed to upper 40s like predicted earlier in the week.

WWA posted for a sizable chunk of Vermont

00Z 3K NAM not looking good for parts of Upstate NY and the mountains of VT.  The trees in the higher elevations are still loaded with the low ratio snow of earlier this week.  This could be a set up for electrical and other issues for people in that region.

I don't know her that well--I was trying to be humorous. I hope you were being humorous too. I feel creatively stifled.

Our 33-degree rain has begun--at the temperature I had expected. Don't you all love it when it is raining and 33 degrees? I didn't think so. Our only truly dry month all year has been April, and because of the cold it felt damp.
