Posted this in the storm thread, but suppose this is also a place to post, in reference for the dramatic cold on its way.  We’re at 50-degrees, as of 10:30 this morning:

Down to 34 degrees.  Wind has picked up, still just breezy with occasional gusts that sound the neighbor’s wind chime!

My weather app now says 30 degrees.  Map posted above says I’m at 29.  So down 20 degrees in 5 daylight hours.  Gonna be a chilly eclipse viewing tonight...

Down to 25 in central ct. Realized a flaw in my hastily mounted weather station. House is blocking most of the wind now that it's coming out of the north. Wind has definitely picked up. Forecast for a low of 1 tonight, be interesting to see where we end up.

26 with windchill of 14. Not impressed yet in Central Virginia, but the temperature is not done dropping.  Does appear it's a here today, gone tomorrow shot though, as Tuesday rebounds to a high around 50. Wish the cold would stay long enough for the next storm to be frozen. Looks like the split flow and warmth from El Nino will keep dominating the weather for a while longer. But at least we still have February.

It has fallen to zero degrees at the Binghamton Regional Airport, equaling our coldest reading of the past year (on Nov. 23). We could reach -5 for the first time since early January of 2018. Tomorrow's daily record low is awfully tough to beat, however:  15 below, in 1985. Tuesday's is almost as hard, 13 below in 2005. The wind chill tonight is a brutal 21 below. Brrr!

13 degrees....  and breezy.

I figure at least consistent winds of 5-10 with some SERIOUS gusts (I wanna say 40+)

I have got to get a wind gauge for the porch.  Some of this wind is really blowing hard here.
