  1. True! In Chambersburg it was around 35F.. started as snow, no mixing. Coming down at a good clip now and temps falling.
  2. In Chambersburg.. 30F with freezing rain. Expected a few inches of snow, but looking like a bust down this way. Can’t complain, as we’ve done reasonably well with most events this winter!
  3. Snow started around 7 PM in Chambersburg, it’s 28F with a dusting at present.
  4. Ominous.. No? Anyone with access to more details from the Euro?
  5. THUMP! 30F.. Heavy Snow. 5.5” in Chambersburg, PA.
  6. It’s interesting you mention a NE wind.. I’m above the Mason-Dixon Line, and my wife and I went out to eat and enjoy the storm.. snow blowing hard from the North. Surprised me.
  7. 32F Moderate snow has been falling for the past few hours here in SCPA. We have about 1” so far. I do have my eyes on the 850 temps.. They are definitely “creeping” up on my region. The radar returns look strong, so I’m hoping we can make hay over the next few hours!
  8. In Chambersburg, it’s 33F. Some light snow and sleet starting to fall.
  9. Indeed. Sounds similar to the event from November where we overperformed on snowfall. In that system, we remained all snow until the precip rates began to slow, and then it was a quick changeover to sleet. I’m wondering if we can maintain those high rates, if that will keep us all snow for a longer duration. Btw.. long time lurker on the forums, thanks to all for the analysis and education. This forum is invaluable during the winter months!
  10. CTP Snowfall Forecast.. IMO this looks aggressive for the southern tier counties. CAD for my region seems to be frequently underdone, but changeovers from snow to sleet and freezing rain are usually quicker than modeled. Leads me to believe that I’ll stay below freezing, but have a greater impact from ice in SCPA.
  11. How accurate is the 3K NAM? It’s a good look for those in SCPA..
  12. So far, it’s just been “organized flurries”. We’ve had a light band overhead for a couple hours on radar, but just started now. The less virga, the better!
  13. Snow has started in Chambersburg, PA! Temp, 29.
  14. Does anyone have a precip map for the 12z ECMWF? Interested in seeing how far north the precip comes.
  15. FV3-GFS at 18z.. Considering this is 300+ hours away, It’s at least encouraging that there’s a consistent storm signal. If that 1040 HP could re-establish itself from last evening’s run, that would be great! Looking at the BSR, it would appear to suggest a track further SE?
